Why We Are Here
Carrell Oil Field, in Winnett Montana, is much more than a business venture. The oilfield itself holds significant value to the history of Montana as well as the history of the entire country. Cat Creek, Montana in 1921 was the first place in Montana that oil was discovered. The first "Discovery Well" can still be seen, despite the fact that it is no longer running. As well as the field, there are several places in Cat Creek that are listed on the National Historic Places List.
Cat Creek's Oil Field was purchased in 199* by Karen Carrell and Lloyd Carrell now of Billings and Lewistown Montana. Since Karen and Lloyd purchased the field, there have been several projects in motion. Everything from new buildings, machinery, vehicles to new high tech processes of extracting the oil, have been implemented.
The goals of this site are fairly simple. We wish to inform people about our operation, as well as the oil industry in general. Carrell Oil Company is the perfect example of an oil company that not only cares about our environment and planet, but does something about it.
